Pep's comments on Klopp's comments šŸ˜”

Good Afternoon, football fans!If you havenā€™t got your teams ready for Fantasy Football, itā€™s too late. Iā€™m sorry for you. This morning we look at:

  • The ā€˜98 World Cup-winning team in beautiful black and white photography

PREMIER LEAGUE UPDATE āš½ Hereā€™s what the Premier League table currently looks like:

The first game this weekend sees Aston Villa (9th) take on Arsenal (10th) at home. Both teams off the back of recent losses, with one point separating the two, will look to use the game to get back on track to really challenge for those European spaces. A month ago, Burnley (17th currently) and Brighton (15th) were five and three points off the relegation zone. Whilst they havenā€™t shot up the league table, their recent form has opened up an eight and ten-point gap between them and the bottom sides. Potterā€™s men are finally seeing the fruits of their labour. In the table below, from the 26th of January, based on xG, Brighton could have had 17 more points and could have been 12 positions above where they were. Since the 26th of January, theyā€™ve taken seven points off a possible nine, including wins against Spurs and Liverpool.

Off the back of a 9-0 win, United will most likely go on to lose this game. Thatā€™s simply how football works nowadays. With Everton, there was a time when they were genuine top 4 contenders. That feeling diminished when it felt like they missed a month of football. Add some injuries and we saw them drop down to 7th in the league. However, with two games in hand on most teams above them, a win today against United, and making the most of the games-not-played, could see them rise above the Reds. When heā€™s not coaching world-class football, Ancelotti goes around being an angel. You could be mistaken for the image below being about a retired detective whoā€™s just had some fresh evidence posted to him, reigniting a 20-year-old case about a missing person but no, heā€™s just having a chat with an Everton fan turned friend.

Five out of the top eight are in action tomorrow.Only two teams have a worse record than Spurs and West Brom over the last five games. Jose Mourinho vs Sam Allardyce. You can probably sit this one out. I can already see sparks flying before Iā€™ve even typed out Liverpool v Man City. Liverpool are seven points behind City, who have played a game less. This time last year, Liverpool were 14 points ahead of City.Like a high-school drama, all eyes are going to be on the pre-match handshake before kick-off after Pepā€™s commentson Kloppā€™s comments. Klopp has ruled out competing for the leaguebut, given how the season has fluctuated from the start, a win here could see fortunes change once more. Also, managers sometimes like to play mind-games. A few weeks ago, I talked about how Sheffield United were currently on track to have fewer points than the 07/08 Derby County team who finished the season on 11 points. Sheffield United were on 2 points at the time. Since then, theyā€™ve taken more points than all but four teams in the league, with three wins in their last five, and theyā€™re within one point of 19th. Seeing how Tuchel shapes up for this match-up could make this the most interesting game of the weekend.
